This is the trip and post office that of started it all. The Athelstane, WI post office is near the Peshtigo and Menominee rivers. My sister, brother-in-law and good friend had driven up here to do a little whitewater rafter in the summer of 2002.
Which by the way was a great time. At the time I was only interested in getting a souvenir/memento of the places I’ve visited. Most of photos I have in the early years of photographing contain people in them. This particular photograph is my sister and I in front of the Athelstane, WI post office.
I don’t know if there is a dedication plaque or any other interesting features inside the building as this was not even an idea at the time. So here you have it folks. The one that started it all and as the saying goes, “the rest is history” Thanks for visiting.
