ADDRESS: 63501 NE Stevens Pass Hwy, Baring, Washington 98224
The Baring Washington Post Office is clearly a distinguished building. One look and I was like WOW! The thing is the first time I saw it was during my 2010 Pacific Crest Trail hike, so all sorts of stories surround this time. Baring is the home town of the Dinsmore’s, a very popular hiker hostel.
I must have eaten my breakfast, lunch and dinner here several days in a row. At this point in the my hike I must have lost about 20 pounds and could not get enough to eat. Long distance hiking does that to a person.
Anyway, I was so interested in talking to the locals and conversing with the other hikers during my visit. Now that I’m reflecting on my time spent here I’m in awe of all the details of this building.
This post would not be complete with out a shout out to the Dinsmore’s. Thanks for everything and thank you for being hiker friendly. For more information on the Dinsmore’s hiker haven please visit their website.
Thanks,
