ADDRESS: 3 E. 1st St., Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania 17007
Boiling Springs is another post office I visited during my 2007 Appalachian Trail Thur-Hike. Boiling Springs is also the home of Mid-Atlantic Regional office of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
One of the questions people often ask is “Why do you like post offices?”, Or “What is the reason behind taking pictures of post offices?”. The Boiling Springs post office is one example of why the post office is not only special to me, but also why it is special with Appalachian Trail hikers.
As long distance hikers we rely on the post offices along the trail for re-supply. By shipping provisions to ourselves along the way we are able to acquire items that may not be available locally. The Boiling Springs post office is an important part in the success of thru-hikers along the Appalachian Trail.
In the picture below you see (Tumbleweed) dropping her pack before heading inside to pickup her provisions.
