ADDRESS: 300 South Lincoln Avenue, Bridgeport, Ohio, 43912
ARTIST: Richard Kenah
TITLE: Ohio Harvest
MEDIUM: Oil on Canvas (mural)
STATUS: The Bridgeport post office is still an active, operating facility and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. The mural resides in the lobby on a wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1940
My goal for the road trip I took in October of 2022 was to specifically visit this one. It was the winner in the 1939 48 Sate mural competition.
I had a great trip, it was very early in the morning when I made it here. The sun was just coming up. The heavy shadow you see just below the building is the bridge behind me from where I was photographing.
Sadly, the lobby was closed on the weekend when I made my initial stop. I returned three days later during business hours to get the mural images. This visit took me to 23 post offices.
Interesting this is the third entry I have recorded here on Post Office Fans, a popular stop.

Hello David:
Yes, the front entrance has been changed, perhaps the wooden doors out lasted there wear and tear.
Interesting also, the two stairways to the front doors, kind of unusual.
Thanks for posting.

There were no historical photos in the lobby or elsewhere that I’ve found yet. Do you have original images of this one?
