This is the original downtown location for the Ottawa, IL Post Office. It’s located in a small shopping center and not my one of my favorite locations for post offices.

A recent road trip took me to Racine, WI. On the way home We drove through Spring Grove and this is today’s featured building. People think taking pictures of post offices is easy. Well I must report this one was a challenge to get. Apparently there was construction on the bridge in town. This caused me to follow all the detours in order to get to the post office. So relax people. NO need to drive out and see it. I’ve got the photos right here.

I initially visited this post office in September of 2003. Since then I returned to get more pictures and to my delight was also able to get photos of the dedication plaque and honor plaque.
Any of my readers know who Robert McClory is? I did a general search but was unsure if I had the correct person so I didn’t post anything else here. If you are familiar or can point me in the right direction that would be great.
