ARTIST: Joep Nicolas
TITLE: Coldwater Activities
MEDIUM: (mural)
STATUS: The Coldwater post office is still an active, operating facility, and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1940
Coldwater was another stop at the very end of my road trip in October of 2022. It was hard to get a good photo with the sun setting behind the building. I imagine I’ll be back to retake this one in the future, but for now, here is what I have.
I love the golden eagle above the front entrance. In addition the gold lettering is rich also. I wonder who’s idea it was to paint it gold?
Very nice mural which comes down on either side of the postmaster’s door.

Yes, impressive eagle. I wonder what the original door looked like…more iron grilling? Nice mural too.

Hello, I hadn’t notice the door. After so many visits I kinda get used to the newer all metal doors. I imagine the original was a nice wooden door. The tress made it hard to see the entire front of the building. But the other features make up for it. The mural is on the larger side.
