ADDRESS: 105 Chicago St., Dewitt, Illinois 61735
Another stop on my February road trip Dewitt was pleasant. When I stopped a man was riding his bike and stopped to ask what I was doing. I ran through my normal speech and told him what I was doing. We chatted for a few minutes and I learned a little bit. Apparently his gentleman was a native of the town and started to tell me about a yearly festival that used to be in their town center. It was organized by local volunteers, however, about seven years ago lost the town lost interest and no longer held a festival.
It’s amazing what you can learn about a town just by stopping and taking an interest in people. In my experience people love to talk and its nice to hear different perspectives from the individuals I meet.
Thanks,
