STATUS: The former Cliffside Park post office constructed in 1935 was razed in early 2000. The relief once housed in the building has also been reported missing, lost or destroyed. It originally resided in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1935
All resources I’ve uncovered report the original building has been demolished. In addition the art has also been reported missing, lost or destroyed. The image you see here was taken from the National Archives Records and Administration files.

The Edmund R. Stearns Co. Montclair, NJ was the low bidder (of 18 bidders) to build the Fort Lee, New Jersey Post Office in 1938, with a bid of $47,728.00. The project was to be completed in 240 working days. The site was purchased some time in 1937 for $12,000.00
