Fort Atkinson Wisconsin Post Office

ADDRESS: 24 Milwaukee Ave. E, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin 53538

I was excited when I first approached this one. I was hopping to be surprised and that this one would have a mural, artwork or other form of interesting artifacts. unfortunately it had none of this. It is an older building and has the name of the secretary of the treasury and architect at the lower left hand corner of the building. It’s also dated 1915 which I found to be very cool.

I must have also looked suspicious photographing the building. As I was working a man stepped outside to inquire what I was doing. I just mentioned I was a fan of the post office and out looking for murals. Although, there is no mural here it’s still a great building and I enjoyed visiting and meeting the postmaster.

Does anyone else have anything interesting to add to this post. Any other stories about this one? I like old building.
