ADDRESS: 1400 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, Illinois 60026
One of the observations you make when you start visiting lots of post offices is the neighborhoods in which they reside. Take for instance the Glenview Illinois post office. When I first drove into the parking lot I knew this was a newer building. But what I also observed was how ornate the building is. Since I happen to know the area a little bit, I happen to know that this is an affluent area.
The ornate stone and brick of this building reflects the decor of the area. Most of the homes are large and expensive. So it only goes to show you one can gauge the area by the architecture of the buildings. The Glenview area is certainly “upper class” and it appears the patrons of the area also have an expensive looking post office to service their needs. What struck me as odd is there is no artwork? For such an affluent area I’m surprised they don’t have beautiful artwork to adorn their building.
Another observation I made while visiting is the color choices of the area. If you notice the post office has the new USPS logo but the colors are not the traditional red, white and blue. I’m not sure if the color choices are a village ordinance or if this was just to match the decor of the building and area. But if anyone else would like to shed some light on this I’d be interested to hear from you.
Thanks,

David,
For a modern post office, I like this one.
