If you were to ask a thru-hike what some of their chores are when they get to town, 99% would respond to eat. And yes that would be my response as well. When you starve your body of fresh food while out on the trail, town food is always a nice welcome.
For my 2010 hike one of my chores was also to take as many photographs of post offices as I could. There are several reasons for this. First I wanted a souvenior of the towns I stopped at while on this hiking adventure. Second is that since I had started collecting photographs it simply became an addiction and must have for me.
So this week and next week I’ll be highlight some of the post offices I visited while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. And it appears I only have this one photograph of the Lone Pine building. I must have been in a hurry or running out of memory on the old digital camera. Why else would I have only take one photo?
Thanks,
David W. Gates Jr.

David,
Looking forward to seeing those pics. Back in 2002 I hiked some of that trail myself.
