ADDRESS: 15048 Crabtree Falls Hwy., Montebello, Virginia 24464
Montebello Virginia is home to the Dutch Haus Bed & Breakfast. Nestled comfortably in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia it’s also one possible stop for Appalachian Trail hikers.
Yes, I did stop here during my 2007 Appalachian Trail Thru-Hike. I distinctly remember wearing a very plush robe while my fragrant hiker clothes were being washed. I stayed here with several other hikers during this adventure. Every hiker can appreciate getting out of the rain and cold at the end of a long day on the trail. I remember it being over cast and cold this day so it was refreshing to have someplace dry for the night. I stayed here along with several other hikers at the time. Such is life along the trail?
Another reason for taking pictures of post office is reminiscing about the trips I was on when I visited. Writing this post today I’m reminded of these wonderful moments.
Anyone know if the Dutch Haus B&B still caters to hikers?
Thanks,
