ADDRESS: 265 Cosby Hwy., Newport, Tennessee 37821
I don’t remember your name but we spoke in the lobby after hours and I learned a little history about Newport. You guided me to the older building. I’d like to report I was able to find the old building and photograph it. If you ever find this site and remember me, please post a comment below. It was a pleasure talking to you about Newport. Thanks.
This was a fun visit, my wife and I had just finished up our hike and headed straight to Newport to find the post offices. We had not even found a hotel at this point so I’m sure I smelled pretty bad. I was happy to see the old photographs in the lobby but part of me wished the old building was still an active post office. I’ve also learned the mural that was once in the old building is now in a museum. I’ll report more about that in another article about the old building but for now here is the new active post office building for Newport, Tennessee.
What do you know about the old photographs in the lobby? Where you responsible for displaying these historic photos? Please comment below I’d love to hear more about them.
Thanks,
David W. Gates Jr.
