ADDRESS: 313 Washington St., Prophetstown, Illinois 61277
The post office in Prophetstown was not all that exciting but the town itself was quite delightful. It’s pretty much a touristy town with neat paintings on the exterior of some of the buildings. It was really neat to see all the artwork so I had to showcase some of it here.
I also scared up the postal worker here and didn’t mean to. As I was talking pictures of the building he did come out to investigate. I mean you no harm sir, I’m a friendly! don’t hurt me!
Although not entirely post office related I found this too good to pass up. If you ever get the chance to pass through Prophetstown, I”d recommend stopping for a few minutes to observe the large paintings.
Thanks,
David W. Gates Jr.

David,
I think that of all the post offices I’ve ever photographed, I think it’s been only once where someone approached/asked me what I was doing. I guess they are a little more paranoid in the midwest. 🙂
Keep up the good works!

huh! Maybe I just look more devious or up to no good. Seems I always got this from authority growing up. Thanks for the comments when are you posting more on your site? (http://unitedstatespostoffices.shutterfly.com/)
