ADDRESS: 7210 Springfield Rd., Springfield, Wisconsin 53176
After talking to the man I met at the Rochester, Wisconsin post office I had to stop here. When I was talking to this local guy he mentioned the Springfield Post Office was in a trailer. I really could not picture in my mind what this would look like. I was thinking a little trailer next to someone’s house or something to that effect. Little did I know this was one very large fancy trailer.
Newer post offices like this don’t seem to have the character of older buildings. But I went inside and met the postmaster. I explained I was looking for murals and the reason I was talking pictures. I’m glad went inside because I found what I think is the newest dedication plaque I have ever seen. Apparently this post office was dedicated in 2000, which is the newest one I have personally seen. Just another example of why I like to take pictures and visit during normal business hours. I don’t think I would have learned this if I had visited during non business hours.
Thanks,
