As mentioned in a previous article. My trip in May of 2015 I visited a few buildings during non-business hours. Staunton was one stop and the doors were closed. Darn! I wasn’t able to view or photograph the mural. Saving this one for another day. Until then please enjoy the following exterior photos.
Another building with a covered up corner-stone. I talk about my disappointment in the installation of the ramps on my Post Office Corner Stone page.
Note to self, the building is closed on Sunday’s. Check for hours on Saturday and plan accordingly.
Thanks,
David W. Gates Jr.
10/26/2020 UPDATE
Another stop during my Saturday road trip was Staunton, Illinois. The last time I visited the lobby was closed and I was not able to photograph the mural. Saturday October 24, 2020 I had the opportunity. What a great mural and lobby. Always pains me to see the covered up cornerstone. I’m including the image of me wearing my mask as a reminder of this time in history when we were dealing with a global pandemic.
