Another beautiful day for photographing old post offices. These were taken back in June of 2015. Here is why I’m just posting it now. See I take road trips and perform my site visits way in advanced of ever creating the articles. So when I return I have a backlog of photos that need to be sorted, saved and renamed. After this is done I then need to resize the photos. After I resize the photos I need to create the article you are now enjoying.
All this work means I have a pretty large backlog of work that needs to get done. Eventually as the winter months keep me inside more I’ll be able to catch up. But for now please enjoy the beautiful former Peoria post office and court-house.
I was pleasantly surprised these are located on the exterior of the building. No need to wait for the lobby to open or to have other objects in the way. I can just walk up and start photographing. What are your thoughts of limestone reliefs? Please comment and share below.
Thanks,

Welcome to today’s featured former post office from Morton, Illinois.
So this is one of those cases where the art is no longer in this building. So then what do I do? Do I include the sources at the bottom of my articles as I normally do with building that do have art?
Those are decisions I have ponder as I create articles on former post offices buildings. Especially when the art no longer exist here.
The stone cast was moved to the new building on Jefferson St.
What do you know about the art moving to the new building? Please comment and share below.
Thanks,
David W. Gates Jr.
