ADDRESS: 1085 Voyager Dr., Tehachapi, California 93561
The town of Tehachapi is really spread out. The post office is on the other side of town over the expressway. Since it is a newer building there really isn’t anything exciting about it. Except that it is one of the stops a potential Pacific Crest Trail thru-hiker will visit.
There is really no easy way to walk to the post office from town. I don’t remember there being any sidewalks or pedestrian friendly walkways. I ended up chatting to a random lady at the coffee shop. I mentioned I needed to get over to the post office and she offered to drive me. What luck! I accepted her offer. So this is what hiking and taking pictures of post offices is all about. Random acts of kindness and mingling with the locals. Not much more I could have asked for. As a matter of fact, when I finished at the post office there were a couple other hikers along with myself that ended up getting a ride back into town. Sweet!!!
Thanks,
