STATUS: The Waverly post office is still an active, operating facility, and the mural can be viewed by interested members of the public. It resides in the lobby on the wall above the postmaster’s door.
YEAR: 1940
While I was outside taking photos of this building, there were a few news reporters setup outside the court house across the street. When I asked one of the bystanders, they mentioned a court case was in session.
When I returned home to look it up, I found out it was a Pike County Murder trial. Interesting to learn about what is going on when I’m out on the road.
